Technical

We favour the use of multi-layered engineered timber.

This stable material prevents warping and twisting, ensuring a tight weather seal and long-life.

Our doors will not stick in the winter like inferior products and all windows are thoroughly draught sealed.

Top quality preservatives are factory applied allowing any RAL colour and a huge choice of stains.

Exceptional glazing

Advanced glass technology not only provides enhanced thermal performance but also much improved clarity of appearance, particularly compared to traditional hard coated low e glasses. Our sealed units are fitted into the frames from the inside for security and can be specified to the highest possible insulation energy ratings.

All products are glazed as standard with double-glazed units which incorporate an enhanced thermally insulating glass to provide an extremely low U-value. We can further improve the efficiency of the unit by filling the cavity with argon gas and using low conductivity spacer bars to minimise edge losses. The result is a 1.0 W/m2K centre pane u-value producing an 80% increase in energy savings compared to single glazing.

Internal beads for security

For most products the glass is fitted from room side to prohibit would be intruders from gaining entry by removing the glass.

Damage free re-glazing

In the event of glass breakage all our windows and doors can be re-glazed without damage to the surrounding window frame; no need even to re-paint!

Neat, coloured or clear silicone seals

Purpose-made grooves are provided internally and externally to receive the silicone necessary to protect against water ingress. Appropriate coloured or clear silicone is factory applied to guarantee a perfect, unobtrusive seal.

Warm edge spacer bars

Low conductivity further help to minimise heat loss and combat condensation levels on the inner pane.

Rebated glazing beads eliminate unsightly gaps between the frame and bead

In conventional timber sections, paint is prone to cracking at the point where the bead meets the window frame. By rebating the glazing bead over the sash we conceal the joint and guard against these unattractive lines.

Traditional detailing

In fulfilling the most strict modern insulation standards we do not compromise on appearance.

After all...the reason that many clients specify wood is primarily due to the beautiful appearance of our  traditional window and door range.

Slim frame sections optimise view and light as well as retaining a period feel to your property.

Ovolo mouldings and putty bead styling externally offer a classical character that cannot be matched by modern materials.

Our guaranteed painting system is applied in-house not on site for a furniture quality finish in any colour that you can imagine.

In the event of glass breakage all our windows and doors can be re-glazed without damage to the surrounding window frame; no need even to re-paint. The clip in sash system also helps with installation ensuring a faster installation time.

Purpose-made grooves are provided internally and externally to receive the silicone necessary to protect against water ingress. Appropriate coloured or clear silicone is factory applied to guarantee a perfect, unobtrusive seal.

Entrance and Stable Doors

Feature a solid outer frame and 68mm door leaf that comes pre-hung into the frame.

Hardwood sills and Stormguard thresholds can accommodate various step designs

Espagnolette high security locking with three way adjustable hinges for perfect closure and locking is standard.

Our doors are one of the few timber units available with PAS 23/24 Secure by Design certification for peace of mind.

Both period and modern furniture is available in brass chrome and black finishes.

French and Bi-Fold doors available in the range.

Stain and paint finishes

Any RAL or BS colour can be specified as well as multi colour options both inside and out,
over a dozen stain shades are available if you prefer a timber look to your frames.

Timber Species

We offer our windows and doors in certified Hardwood, softwood (still multi-layered) and luxurious Oak.

Hardwoods have an open grain finish with a different texture to the smooth paint finish on a softwood frame.

A four part process for paint or stains involves fungal preservation treatment, coloured sealing, first coat and final coat of the desired colour. This is what gives us the confidence to be able to offer a 10 year paint defect warranty and 30 years rot and fungal decay protection.

Maintenance guides will be supplied with the products on installation.
